Payroll and tax compliance isn’t exactly a glamorous industry. It’s not thrilling or sexy, but it’s absolutely necessary when you’re a business.
So when GET Payroll Solutions came to us looking for a new brand, we were excited to create something that really showed the importance of what they do and the guidance they give.
We went through a number of ideas for GET Payroll, but the central theme we kept coming back to was founder Leah’s determined caregiver persona. She’s really invested (pardon the pun) in taking care of the details so businesses don’t have to.
True North
Leah had initially used an image of an iceberg as her logo and since she works here in Newfoundland and Labrador, she was keen on keeping a nautical element as a part of her brand.
Aside from handling the nuts and bolts of payroll and accounting, Leah has specialized training in human resources and international workers, and she provides training and information sessions for businesses too, bringing the guidance theme home for all of us.
All of these factors combined, caregiving, guidance, and specialized offerings brought us to the idea of navigation and the most valuable tools when travelling are the stars - specifically the North Star.
Just like GET Payroll Solutions, the stars in this logo are ever-constant, watchful, and pointing north through the wordmark, reminiscent to a growth pattern on a graph.
From there it was easy, Leah already loved the colour yellow, we incorporated the Big Dipper - led by the largest North Star - into the name GET Payroll Solutions and started to work on the rest of the elements.

The three pillars of this business are Guidance. Expertise. Trust. and they fit perfectly with the logo. GET Payroll guides businesses one-on-one and in seminars, they keep confidential information secure, and with more than 25 years experience you can count on them get the job done right the first time.
When we presented Leah with her new logo, she was thrilled and immediately ordered her business cards to show off her new look.
